Cultivation Objectives
The goal of the Intelligent Manufacturing Engineering program is to meet the needs of the national innovation-driven development strategy and the national manufacturing innovation development strategy. It aims to train high-level talents urgently needed for the development of the energy equipment manufacturing industry by integrating advanced manufacturing and artificial intelligence. Through the deep integration of disciplines such as artificial intelligence technology, mechanical engineering, and control engineering, the program focuses on cutting-edge scientific and technological research in the field of intelligent manufacturing, aiming to cultivate innovative high-level talents in intelligent manufacturing science and technology.
Curriculum
The primary supporting disciplines for this program are Mechanical Engineering, Control Engineering, and Computer Science and Technology. Building on fundamental theoretical knowledge in higher mathematics, physics, humanities, social sciences, management sciences, and foreign languages, the program includes the following core professional courses: Engineering Drawing, Engineering Mechanics, Fluid Mechanics and Engineering Thermodynamics, Fundamentals of Mechanical Design, Industrial Internet, Engineering Materials and Forming Technology, Mechanical Manufacturing Technology, Intelligent Manufacturing Equipment, Basics of Intelligent Manufacturing Technology, CNC Technology, Mechatronic System Design, Intelligent Factory, Modern Design Methods, Product Digital Twin Technology, Electrical and Electronics, Microcomputer Principles, Data Structures and Algorithms, Industrial Big Data Analysis and Applications, Sensor Technology and Applications, and Fundamentals of Control Engineering. The program also offers innovative practice courses such as Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Experimental Skills, and Intelligent Manufacturing Equipment.
Cultivation Characteristics
As a "New Engineering" major, the Intelligent Manufacturing Engineering program aims to cultivate advanced specialized talents for the national manufacturing industry. Relying on the first-level discipline of Mechanical Engineering, the program uses platforms such as the "Intelligent Robotics Engineering Discipline Innovation and Intelligence Base," the "Coal Mine Intelligence and Robotics Innovation Application" key laboratory, Beijing's on-campus innovation practice base, and the Intelligent Manufacturing Equipment Research Base. Following the educational philosophy of a research-oriented university and adhering to the principles of selective admissions and rigorous training, the program provides high-quality talents for various industries in equipment manufacturing, equipment control, and factory management. Currently, the program has 16 faculty members, including 7 professors and researchers (5 Ph.D. supervisors), 2 associate professors, 3 senior engineers, 3 lecturers, and 1 experimentalist. It relies on the excellent teaching team of the Mechanical Engineering program in Beijing, and has established in-school and out-of-school intelligent manufacturing talent training bases with multiple domestic enterprises. In undergraduate education, the program adopts a "solid foundation and broad scope" talent training model, emphasizing the cultivation of students' practical teaching skills, implementing a full-process mentorship system for undergraduates, and ensuring full coverage of undergraduate innovation training projects. Outstanding students selected through screening can participate in the Double First-Class Undergraduate Elite Talent Training International Class, attending a semester of specialized study at selected foreign institutions.
Employment and Further Studies:
The Intelligent Manufacturing Engineering program, as a new engineering major, prepares graduates for various manufacturing engineering-related positions across industries. Graduates can engage in equipment manufacturing, equipment research and development, process research, factory operation management, and sales. The solid foundational theory equips innovative talents with wings to soar and provides a necessary foundation for further studies. Outstanding graduates ranking in the top 18% of their class are recommended for exemption from the entrance exam for related majors at this university or other top national universities and research institutions.
