Electrical engineering is a discipline to study the theoretical and practical problems of the generation, transmission, distribution, transformation and utilization of electric energy, which is one of the main support disciplines for the new power systems, renewable energy generation, electric vehicles, energy Internet, intelligent electrical appliances and other major national strategic emerging industries, and it is a comprehensive and strong engineering discipline involving the fields of electromagnetism, electronics, computers, electric power engineering, control engineering, and signal processing. The main features of the electrical engineering discipline are the combination of strong and weak electricity, the combination of electromechanics, the combination of hardware and software, the combination of electrical and electronic technologies, and the combination of components and systems. The electrical engineering discipline of the university mainly includes three research directions: power system and its automation, power electronics and power transmission, electric theory and new technology.
The specific content of each research direction includes:
1. Power system and its automation
The main research is about the new power system modeling, analysis, protection and control technology; optimization of integrated energy system operation; power market; coal mine intelligent power supply and distribution technology.
2. power electronics and power transmission
The main research on high-performance high-power power electronic converter of new topology, modeling and analysis methods, dynamics and advanced control strategies; power electronic device multi-physical field analysis and modeling, state sensing, reliability assessment and health management; renewable energy grid control technology; fault arc detection technology; power electronics technology in the coal mine power supply system applications.
3. Electrotechnical Theory and New Technology
It mainly researches the measurement of magnetic properties of new magnetic materials and the optimization design technology of high-frequency transformers; wireless energy transmission technology; cable insulation detection technology; measurement, modeling and control technology of complex systems; and the application of artificial intelligence in electrical engineering.
